It's a very honest listing ... worth £30 quid unbelievable some nutters paid £250 based on the description and condition

While the misguided Johnny come lately tossers are paying stupid money for obvious boots and reissues, genuine switched on collectors should cash in and have their day in the Sun !!  (Always amazes me that when a useless boot sells for stupid money on Ebay, there are always loads of underpriced good 60's / 70's selling for relatively little on the same day !)

Obviously it's a crime Pete to list records at high prices.  On consignment sales I list what the seller wants - despite advice to the contrary.  However , I don't tell people on Soul Source how to do their respective jobs , but the soul police on here do  LOL

Frighteningly, 18 bids at the moment!

Thought I did well getting £56 or thereabouts last year   ....madness prices for re- issues at the moment - It's the documentary / film effect ....

I have had a full set - all sold bar three I wanted : Dena Barnes, Betty Boo , and Duke Browner 

 

I've had three, four full sets - one I lent out to someone to 'record' and he sold them.  last time I put together a set for myself it took me 3 weeks to get the lot. This was before Duke Browner started going for daft money.  I kept Betty Boo, Sam Williams and The Masqueraders 'How'.  That last one is really hard nowadays.

Dunno what it will end up at, but does raise the bootlegging issues yet again.

 

There is a simple solution to stop this. Everyone buys a few and then reports them to Ebay as counterfeits, you get to keep the items and you get your money back too, and the seller gets loads of negative feedback....

 

Counterfeit items

If a buyer suspects that an item is counterfeit, and there are strong indicators that the item is counterfeit, we don't require the buyer to return the item to the seller. The buyer agrees to cooperate with us to ensure the proper disposal of the item. In such instances, we refund the buyer for the full cost of the item and original shipping, and the seller reimburses us for the refund. The buyer may not sell the item on eBay or elsewhere.

The last lot were about £450 I think.  Be more than that now though.

This is the sort of bootleg that the label owners should really sort out, whoever owns the Chess/Cadet label rights should have enough clout to get this prosecuted by trading standards. Its no different to fake trainers really.

 

None of them do anything though, Universal has failed to police the Motown stable of labels for decades.

I bought a Nokia phone about 6 yrs ago (£200.00) and it turned out to be a Chinese fake. After opening a dispute and the seller refusing to reimburse me I reported it to Ebay......I actually forwarded the message from him that said " You should know that with Ebay it`s Buyer Beware!" Before i was refunded I had to get written confirmation from a registered Nokia dealer that the phone was indeed a fake. I was refunded including postage but first had to sign in writing via fax that I would destroy the phone. 

So your spot on with that statement if the rules are the same. But you would need a third party to state that they were bootlegs.
