A new year and a new photo thread to keep us entertained through the months ahead.

My first addition is something suitably seasonal - a wintery scene taken in the Amsterdam woods.

DSC_1212-web.jpg.403007fb2d1c4c9deefe4ade26a6e734.jpg

All contributions very much welcomed, and if the photos we've seen in previous years is anything to go by, we've a lot to look forward to.

Enjoy!

He's a Beauty, love all Sight Hounds since we've had our whippet (nearly 5 years). Their temperament makes them fantastic pets, so loving and lazy lol :sleep3:

Had a Fabulous night Sat night, saw Gordon Giltrap, John Etheridge and Paul Brett and Ray Burley live in Cardiff at the Vintage Guitar show, these boys are some of the Uk's leading guitarists... anyhow I got a shot of Gordon Giltrap 27 years after I'd photographed him as a young Photography student... made my night...

Did Gordon Giltrap play 'Heartsong' Mal ?..I absolutely love that track and the Perilous Journey lp were both a massive influence on me when I first started out on the acoustic guitar as a teenager.

Love the photo's btw !

He did... it was brilliant, I thought it was 'The Travel Programme' with Judith Charmers but he said she was ITV, and he wrote the theme to that as well... I love 'Lucifers Cage' but as there were so many Guitaristas on, they only only got three songs a piece...

The "most liked" photo for the month of July was this one taken by @Winsford Soul showing the dramatic sunset hues enhanced by local moorland fires.

Well done, Ste!

Last nights sunset.

Where I live in Manchester the sun at this time of year sets above the moors at Bolton and Horwich. The colours are caused by the fires on the moors

He's a handsome chap, needs some TLC obviously, good luck when the time is right.

Yep, he's lovely Dave. I took him, and three others for a walk - obviously not all at the same time. The only problem with Ace is that he doesn't like other dogs.

Then he just needs extra work, it can be done, check out the dog whisperer.

I'm hoping that it can be sorted through socialising training and general training. I'll be signing up to a local training school when I get my dog.

Wow, some excellent photo's again these past few weeks. Had a great week in the small village of Alpbach in the Austrian Alps back in July. A really beautiful place with some great scenery. A few from there

First one is the Church and swimming lake at Reith, the second one is the view looking down on the towns of Munster, Kramsach, Brixlegg and the third is going into the abyss on the gondola 🙂

Some photos from todays walk of the remains of Cheesden Lumb Mill built in 1786 in what is called locally the Forgotten Valley, looking through the window back down the valley I've just walked up, this is at the start the sides get steeper the further down you go, the valley travels for some miles and has the ruins of ten or so cotton mills along its length showing not all our industrial heritage is found in towns and cities, the area I live in for those bothered to get out in the hills and onto the moors is rich in industrial archaeology. The small waterfall falls into what was once the Waterwheel Pit which provided the power for the mill.

Thank you kind sir :hatsoff2: today is the first time for a while that I've actually taken a photograph despite taking the camera out  quite often.  I've certainly become more picky in what I decided to point the lens at over the last few years. Have i a become a snob. ? :D

Well chuffed. May have to start taking some pictures soon if it carries on . Plus I treated myself to a new manfrotto tripod today so that will be a excuse to get out.

Update got 200 likes and 46 comments including my replies.
