My Indian work mate dropped something on his foot finger

That will be third foot left finger then gilly!!!

Slightly off topic but the Artistics get my vote as the group/artist with the most quality double siders which is pretty much all of their singles

Some r&b leaning ones

Bud harper - whereever you were / let it rain

johnny west - tears baby / it aint love

melvin davis - its no news / wedding bells

chuck holiday just can,t trust nobody / i still love you on gloria can,t be far away

few fav double headers from me out of the box

melvin davis--i must love you-still in my heart--groovesville

    betty lloyd--im catching on--you say things you dont mean--b s c

Just a thought...slightly off-topic as that is the way my head works....2 songs on the same side of a 45. I've got Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels - Devil with the Blue Dress stomping into Good Golly Miss Molly and Bunny Sigler - Let the Good Times Roll smacking into Feel So Good, any others ?

One of my all time fave double  headers is Alberta Weeks - Mirrow On The Wall & Forget Me Not but the one I'm constantly playing lately is Olivia Alexander - He's Gonna Love Me The Right Way (part 1) c/w Part 2 - there is something about this track that really gets to me.

Ouch! Can't pick one.

If I had to, the shortlist may look like this.

Linda Jones. I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow/That's When I'll Stop Loving You.

Bobby Bland. Back In The Same Old Bag Again/I Ain't Myself Anymore.

Impressions. You Ought To Be In Heaven/I Can't Stay Away from You.

Jerry Butler. I've Been Trying/Giving Up On Love.

Walter Jackson. My One Chance to Make It/Deep In The Heart Of Harlem.

Walter Jackson. Not You/A Corner In The Sun.

Debbie Taylor. I Don't Wanna  Leave You/Just Don't Pay.

And that's only the 'non dance floor' selection!

Tim.

Four Tops  Ask the Lonely/Where were you

Goosebumps every time

Magnetics Lady in green / Heart your made of stone

Magnetics Count the days / When I,m with my baby

John & The Wierdest Cant get over these memories / no time

Temptation Walk / Shotgun and the Duck - Jackie Lee.

It's definitely an age thing :)

Graham

how about servicemen sweet magic / connie  these are top tracks

One of the best on British label - Al Greene - Back up train/Don't leave me (Bell Records)

Ronnie McNeir.... Sitting in my class/Isn't she pretty

Silky Hargraves... I'll keep on trying/Love, lets try it again

And in my opinion the finest double sided Soul 45 on this planet.... Jimmy Gresham.... This feeling i have/Put it out of your mind.

Incidentally, if anyone EVER decides to boot JG then i'm afraid it's both barrels of a shotgun!

Few more double ups

Amanda humphrey power of love/call on me.

Lou johnson wouldnt that be something/

Better let him go.

Gene woodbury ever again/thats not half bad

Gwen davis cant be your part time baby/

My man dont think i know

Lollipops loving good feeling/ & the fantastic imo

Step aside baby.

Darrell Banks Open the door to your heart / Our Love is In The Pocket - Stateside.

Me too.

 Can't believe that I forgot to mention this one earlier.....

Monique - If You Love Me (Show Me) / Never Let Me Go

:hatsoff2: - Kev

the four larks groovin at the gogo/ i still love you

Not many would beat ' Girl I love you '  / ' It rained 40 days and nights '  - Garland Green !

Only your love can save me b/w I feel good all over.  Betty Lavette.

One side terrific stomper, one side lovely ballad.

Barbara Mercer - so real / call on me

Lillian Dupree - shield around your heart / hide and seek

Edited by daz mc

Lorraine Chandler -I cant hold on / She don't want you -

Aspirations-You left me / I want to be free-Peaches

Both Top Draw

Nelson Sanders - Mojo Man/I'm Lonely

Irma Thomas - Hitting on Nothin/Ruler Of My Heart

Rhythm Machine - Freakish Love/Whatcha Gonna Do (already said I know)

Manny Corchado - Pow Wow/Chicken and Booze

Marvin Gaye - One More Heartache/When I Had Your Love

Just a few off the top of my head

Dunt think anybodys mentioned

Soul bros six ill be loving you.

Some kind of wonderful.

Willie Hutch - The Duck / Love Runs Out [Dunhill ]

I couldn't believe these two tracks were either side of one disc!!!

(still not got one though)

Seeing as Darrell Banks has been mentioned a couple of times I'm going to go with:

Parliaments  - (I Wanna) Testify -  I Can Feel the Ice Melting

Billy Hambric -  I found true love &  She said goodbye

       couple more of my choice

the honey bees--lets get back together--never in a million years--garrison

the masquraders--how--im gonna make it --la beat

  the delettes--look at me--whats the use--blue rock

jack montgomery--dont turn your back on me--never in a million years--barracuda

Agree with several already mentioned, plus some reminders to turn a couple over, and favourite today may not be favourite tomorrow but missing from the list so far:

Fantastic Four - Can't Stop Looking For My Baby / Just The Lonely. I adore Just the Lonely.

An afterthought but worth a mention, recently got a Big Frank and The Essences - I Won't Let her see Me Cry (Blue Rock), and Pete Taylor told me to turn it over and play The Secret, said he used to give it some early spins at Annesley. Good advice.

Servicemen - Are You Angry / I Need A Helping Hand (Wind Hit)

so much so its my avatar!

I couldn't believe these two tracks were either side of one disc!!!

(still not got one though)

Would that make it an EP?

Another class double sider.... Lenny Curtis.... "Nothing can help you now" c/w "Who you gonna run to". B side is mid-tempo at it's finest, such a wonderful tune!

Darrell Banks and Jack Montgomery from the Northern sphere.   Then I'd throw in Ms Grace/Crutch by the Tymes for a mainstream/deep soul bargain basement delight

in a similar vein to the above. Bessie Banks  Baby You Sure Know How To Get To Me/ Try To Leave Me If You Can. Contempo. Dancer/ Deep Deep Soul.

Cashmeres - Showstopper/dont let the door hit your back - HEM.

BILLY KENNEDY Sweet Things/Groovy Generation Or most Thelma tracks get my vote.

Of a Northern flavour then a couple of old faves that had individual releases but were coupled together on Jetstar 116

Bobby Patterson - My Baby's Coming Back To Me / What A Wonderful Night For Love

Edited by Dave Turner

Bobby Taylor - Oh I've been blessed and Blackmail.

Nearly forgot that one!

  J T RHYTHM --MY SWEET BABY--ALL I WANT IS YOU--PALMER

  JIMMY MAC--MY WORLD IS ON FIRE--GO ON--PALMER
