OK - I'm bored of these "I can't pick a top ten" comments - blah, blah, blah :(

Please just choose your all time ever (and forever) top 1 (that's ONE) record.

No evasion, obfuscation, procrastination, or indecisiveness please.

ONE TOP RECORD EACH AND THAT'S IT - ONE VISIT ONLY PLEASE, SO GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT!

OK mine is:

Jackey Beavers - Love That Never Grows Old (Revilot)

Cheers

Richard

No mate you can't - it's ONE record only :(smile.gif

In starting the thread I had to decide between Eddie Parker I'm Gone and Jackey Beavers knowing someone would pick Eddie P when I went for Jackey B.

The whole point is it's one record and one record only - the clue is in the title :D:D:lol:

Tough ain't it - but be strong - desert island disc singular :)

Cheers

Richard

For over 50 years it's always been "Keep A Knockin" by Little Richard, and I have no reason to believe that things will change...

now i want this one as well - cause it was also my favourite for 20 odd years

Little Tommy - Baby cant you see

Gladys Knight - No One Could Love You More.

Totally unbeatable.

Jerry Williams- If You Ask Me( Because I Love You)

Fell in love with this on first hearing at Doncaster Top Rank in the early 70's and always been by number one since then.

I'm Gone - Eddie Parker

I have the same opinion about Edwin Starr's - Back Street and that would be the one for me

been hard this thread, whittled it down to two, just listened to 'em both a couple of times and decicded it had to be

TONY MIDDLETON-TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

PHIL

This is really difficult (so many favs), but If its a northern record, the one that gets me up in seconds is

The Salvadors - Stick By Me Baby

then I realise that I cant keep up with the pace, and have to sit the next one out!!

(its the cankles) Its funny really, I always thought I moved quite a bit until my partner said otherwise. (its all in the mind, but not the body !)

P :(

rubin youve been away

Todd Rundgren - I saw the light.

I could play this record on a loop that never ends and I'd never get tired of it. In fact I have been doing that for 36 years.

(Northern wise I would have said The Yum Yums)

One or two non-northern so I'll go with:

Tower of Power - "So very hard to go"

It has everything you would want in a song, great instrumentation and production, heartfelt lyrics and sublime vocals.
