We knew it was coming but it doesn't make the news any easier to take. Micky was one of the scenes most colourful characters, it was a pleasure to have known him all these years and to call him a friend. Sleep easy mate.

I met Mickey for the first time last year @ Soul Funk-tion in Wolverhampton....and yes, just from my brief connection, I could tell he was a passionate musical gent.

 

My condolences to his family and friends.....R.I.P. good sir.

Very difficult to take in, every time I saw him he would come bounding over with his latest selection of jokes, and then we'd talk records - but always a joy to talk to. My life is better for having known you, Mickey. Sincerest condolences to Annie and all those close to you.

As Chalky said we knew it was coming but that gut wrenching feeling we've had all weekend remains. It was a priveledge to know Mickey. Never a dull moment and to laugh with him was the norm not the exception!!! RIP buddy. You will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with Annie, family and his nearest and dearest.

I saw Mickie for the last time Saturday afternoon at Bolton Royal and it was heartbreaking to see him. I will always remember Mickie has a bloke so full of life so full of bonkersness a soul with a great love for Northern Soul ,over the years I've had some great laughs with him he has left me with many great memories had me in stitches laughing many many times whenever he was with Pete Lawson .

I will miss the lad a lot..

Micky was certainly a colourful character, there was no danger of missing him in a crowded room. A top bloke, with a real ear for the music, and so funny, whether you could understand what he was saying or not. We'll definitely miss him, and the scene will be a queiter place for the loss.

Like everyone that 'The Force Of Nature' that was Michael Cruise touched. I sit here with a heavy heart this morning, even when you know it's coming, it's still hard.
His humour, company and great love of soul music, always made him a joy to be with, even though his machine gun delivery would take a few moments to tune into, (Smile), and now I am smiling, he always had the ability to make you smile................
