Just spoken with Pez who is currently at Royal Oldham Hospital Palliative care(G2) with Salmon who has taken a turn for the worse.

Those of us that know Salmon know he has not been well for quite a while, and has been in and out of hospital for the last few years. We can only hope and pray that he will make it through this time, but from my conversation with people there it doesn't look very likely.

It is open visiting, and he is still conscious but unable to speak very much for any of us wishing to go and see him.

He has been a close friend of ours for many years. It saddens me to have to write this. I would love to go and see him and let him make me laugh - most know him as Mr Grumpy - but we had some good old laughs down the line. Just to be able to say you will be okay :(

Hopefully this will be updated as and when any of us have any news.

Penny

only met you a few times Salmon, but you offered me great support when I wasn't in a very good place mentally last year and urged me to carry on battling for DLA telling me of the troubles you'd had getting it awarded

am sad to hear of your passing this morning, but am pleased that you weren't alone and have been surrounded by friends and loved ones during your last days - am thinking of them all

R.I.P SALMON :(

I only met salmon a couple of times and found him a very kind and grounded person more concerned with records than personality's a real Gent we bought records from each other and built quite a nice respectful relationship up between us via soul source.I'm very sad about this however his pain is now gone , his close friends and family must be heartbroken.R.I.P Salmon with utmost respect Simon.

I am lucky to have known Salmon since I was 16 and if I started writing down all my memories of Dave, I'd still be here in a months time. Here is one though,me and Salmon went to an all dayer in Manchester sometime in 1981. As we made our way down Deansgate we were stopped by two coppers who after asking our names and addresses then asked our destination. salmon said without the slightest hint of a smile "we're going to a rally against Police brutality". We were still laughing our heads off when we bumped into Dave Molloy who by way of greeting us through some of his chips in our direction. RIP Dave me and you had some great laughs together.
