That's a real shame...always had a chat when we bumped into each other over the years.

Rest In Soul Tony.

Terribly sorry to hear this and one hell of a shock.
RIP Tony, you'll not be forgotten mate.

Sincere condolences to all his family.

The absolute master of droll humour, I can't believe it. Though I hadn't seen him since Keele in the mid 90s, we spoke regularly on Facebook right up to last Wednesday or Thursday. The UK scene is a sadder place today without our Tone. Bon voyage, you old Huguenot, you.

Fuck sake. Me and Tony go back years. Last saw him at Paul "merve the swerve" Shirleys funeral. We were joking about meeting up before either of us died. Tony real sad mate. Cheers. Remember the hire car and the girl from Halifax?? Bless mate!

Such a shame, I loved Tony's dry sense of humour.

RIP mate.

......One of which - Tony put a Rubber Band on his wrist, looked at me, and said......"You didn't know I was in a band did ya Len?".........This was many years ago, and for some reason it tickled me so much I have always remembered it - It must have been the way he said it, followed by his rye smile

You were meant to live forever you daft old scrote. Really sad to have read this news earlier today, and still a bit numb. Hadn't seen you for a few years - but last time I did, I was treated to your usual nonsense - and a grope as I gave you a cuddle. Loved ya Tone, and will miss you xxx

Sad to hear this, top bloke, will miss his humour and texts at all hours of the day. Kind enough to Dj at first soul events Frank and myself put on in Bedford in 7ts..R.I.P. Tony Warot

Shocked and gutted, Tony has always been around on the scene since I first started going, and was always everywhere, and now he won't be bless him,. A lot of folk will miss him and his conversations and I hope that the fact he was so well liked will bring some comfort to those who were especially close to him. RIP Tony, that niter in the sky never ends matey. Kimbo

Shocking news. Even when I was new to the scene not too long ago Tony had time to chat and make me laugh.  A great bloke and will be sadly missed. RIP Tony. :(

A true gent that will be very sadly missed.

Loved having a chat with Tony, always went away with a smile on my face with my spirits lifted.

Seems like forever ago, when you came and DJ'd with me and Gaz Keen at our first soul nite in Leicester in the early 80's.

Honoured to have been your friend, man are we gonna miss you  :(

Sad news indeed, always chatty, always funny, always smiling, RIP Tony

What a shock to hear such bad news, Tony was a great guy, first met him when he was djing at the Greyhound at Haynes Nr Bedford, then we all moved on to the Northern scene proper, with Hammie, Stik, Dave Smith, Steve Foran, merv the swerve and far too many other great lads from Bedford to mention.

I spent a lot of time with Tony back in the 70's lost touch for a few years but when I saw him again it was as if time had stood still, same old jokes, same old Tony.

Will miss you, you dick head……..Andy

Very sad indeed, sent each other insulting txts as you do only last week. Known Tony a very long time loved him and loved his humour Nicola and I will miss him very much. Catch up with you one day

R.I.P to a legend

Edited by tosspot

I didn't really know him that well, whenever I saw him out he would always smile and say hello and nod in my direction, the people around him always seemed to be laughing and smiling in his direction so I could tell he was a much loved character to be around, R.I.P and God bless
